Moderation Guide (Vixi Unreal)

This is a guide to moderating Vixi Unreal using Tagboard and/or Vixi Capture. Click here to open this article in a new browser tab.

Overview
1) Submit Photos via Tagboard and/or Vixi Capture
2) Approve Photos on Moderation tab
3) Optional: Add Photos to Highlight Playlist and/or Highlight Post
4) Start playing the Unreal Scene in either Manual or Auto mode

1) Submit Photos via:

  • Tagboard
  • Vixi Capture: (Photo Magic, Message, Mosaic, Groov) - Submitting an image to any of these products also causes that image to be added to Vixi Unreal. Note that if an image is delete in one section (ex: Unreal), it is also deleted in the other section (ex: Photo Magic).

2) Approve Photos on Moderation tab

Once photos have been submitted, go to the Moderation tab in Vixi Unreal.

Once you're on the moderate tab, you'll see several dropdown menus:

  • The first dropdown menu allows you to select to view only Tagboard media, only Vixi Capture media, or All Sources. Normally you'd view All Sources.
  • The second dropdown menu is available if you select Tagboard with the first menu. It allows you to choose a specific Tagboard event to view. You would use this if your tagboard account had media for several different teams/themes. You could select to view only the media from the appropriate team/theme of the night.
  • To the right, you'll see options to view All, Approved, or Unapproved media. Normally you would view "Unapproved Media" so that you could approve more media and add it to the pool.

At this point, approve as much media as you are comfortable with by clicking the Approve button on any image. You should aim to Approve at least 10 images to start, but 30-40 images would be ideal. Even more than 40 is acceptable as well. Having more approved images is always better.

3) OPTIONAL: Add posts to Highlight Playlist or Highlight Post

1) Click the Highlight Post or Highlight Playlist tab

2) Click the empty square, and then select a post to add. You can repeat this and add as few or as many as you like. An average setup might have 3-4 posts displayed on Highlight Post or Highlight Playlist (depending on your preference)

4) Start playing the Unreal Scene in either Manual or Auto mode

  • Auto Mode allows you to let the system run on Autopilot and is the more commonly used mode. It will rotate between the Hero/CTA Screen, the social grid where your approved images will be seen, and (optionally) it will cycle to the Highlight Post and/or Highlight Playlist if you have any items added to those playlists.
  • Manual Mode gives the moderator full control of the scene rotation. The moderator can choose to remain in, or skip any certain area, and can control the timing of when to change locations.

One optional way to run the scene is to stay on the social grid indefinitely instead of alternating between the various locations. When this is enabled, it will cycle a new batch of images every X seconds instead of changing to a new scene location. This will effectively skip the Hero/CTA, Highlight Playlist, and Highlight Post since it will remain on the social wall.

To enable this, go to the Settings Menu, on the Timing Tab, and change cycles to 0.  (That's a zero)
