Setting Up GPU Rendering for Vixi Suite
Since Vixi Suite runs in a web environment, these steps will help ensure your browser (e.g., Chrome) takes full advantage of your NVIDIA GPU for better-mixed reality performance:
1. Ensure Hardware Acceleration in Chrome
Open Chrome.
Go to Settings by clicking on the three dots in the top-right corner.
Scroll down to Advanced Settings.
Under the System section, ensure "Use hardware acceleration when available" is turned on.
If it’s disabled, turn it on and click Relaunch.
2. Force GPU Rendering in Chrome
Enter
chrome://flags/
in the Chrome address bar and press Enter.Search for "Override software rendering list" and enable it to force GPU rendering.
Also, enable "GPU rasterization" for improved performance in rendering mixed reality visuals.
Click Relaunch after making these changes.
3. Configure Chrome to Use the NVIDIA GPU
To ensure Chrome uses your NVIDIA GPU for Vixi Suite:
Open the NVIDIA Control Panel by right-clicking on your desktop.
Select Manage 3D Settings from the sidebar.
Go to the Program Settings tab.
From the list of programs, find Google Chrome or add it manually if it’s missing.
Set High-performance NVIDIA processor as the preferred GPU for Chrome.
Click Apply to save the settings.
4. Verify GPU Usage in Chrome
In Chrome, type
chrome://gpu/
in the address bar and press Enter.Check the GPU status page to confirm that Chrome is using your NVIDIA GPU for hardware acceleration.
